   <title>Australie : l'audience des radios commerciales en hausse</title>

Selon le résumé d'écoute annuel de Commercial Radio Australia , basé sur une moyenne des cinq enquêtes radio officielles de GfK menées en 2020, le secteur australien de la radio commerciale a connu une croissance d'audience notable l'année dernière.     <div style="position:relative; text-align : center; padding-bottom: 1em;">

      L'audience des radios commerciales métropolitaines australiennes (à Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adélaïde et Perth) a augmenté de 2% avec près de 11.1 millions d'auditeurs en 2020. Le nombre de personnes écoutant, à la maison, a augmenté de 8% à 6.4 millions. Le rapport (accessible ICI) constate également que l'audience cumulée de la radio a atteint un niveau record et a augmenté de 10% au cours des cinq dernières années. Parmi les autres points clés, on peut citer une augmentation de 2% du nombre des auditeurs âgés de 25 à 39 ans, qui constituaient la plus grande tranche d'âge avec près de 3 millions de personnes, une augmentation de 5% des audiences le matin en semaine et une augmentation de 13% des audiences des stations DAB+.

      "<em>La radio a prouvé sa capacité d'adaptation aux situations d'urgence et a continué à répondre aux besoins des auditeurs au cours d'une année où nous avons dû faire face aux inondations, aux feux de brousse, à une pandémie mondiale et à une perturbation numérique</em>", a déclaré la chef de la direction de Commercial radio Australia, Joan Warner. "<em>La radio a également montré que, si nous sommes dominants dans la voiture, nous ne dépendons d'aucune plateforme ou lieu d'écoute. Le nombre d'auditeurs a fortement augmenté sur les plateformes numériques, mobiles et DAB + et nous continuerons d'évoluer et de développer ces opportunités en 2021</em>". <br />  Dans l'ensemble, l'enquête a révélé que la radio commerciale atteignait 77% des personnes âgées de 10 ans et plus chaque semaine dans les cinq principaux marchés métropolitains et était populaire dans tous les groupes d'âge. Les stations commerciales en DAB+ ont attiré près de 1.6 million d'auditeurs, soit une augmentation de 13% ou de plus 180 000 personnes par rapport à 2019. Plus de la moitié d'entre elles ont écouté les stations DAB&nbsp; à domicile et 676 000 écoutées en voiture.

WorldDAB's Automotive conference will be taking place on 20 June in Turn, Italy. The focus of this years event will be digital radio for Italian drivers, European developments and the European Electronics Communication Code , and the advancements being made in radio in the car.     <div style="position:relative; text-align : center; padding-bottom: 1em;">

      <div>The development of digital radio is different in each market in Europe, even though the cars being driven across Europe are not.&nbsp;One of the key areas that will be discussed at the conference will be the collaboration of the automotive industry with broadcasters.</div>    <div>There are differences in digital radio development across European countries, despite there being no differences in the cars being driven.</div>    <div>Each country that is rolling out DAB+ has a national organisation that provides information to the car manufacturers, however, the automotive industry want only one point of contact.&nbsp; <br />  This conference will address the latter and also answer questions around where connected listening is taking place and what that means for the driver.&nbsp; <br />  The driver wants radio to be a seamless experience that offers content,&nbsp;relevant information and as little distraction as possible. <br />  Car manufacturers want a radio performance that exceeds FM but also need information on the screens for the driver. The conference will&nbsp;also look at how broadcasters and car manufactures are working together to achieve these goals.&nbsp;</div>   <br />  With the conference being held in Italy, there will be a session that focuses on the efforts being done by the Italian regulator, broadcasters, and network operators to ensure that digital radio is successful in Italy. <br />  The Italian car market will be the first outside Norway to go digital in line with the Italian digital radio legislation , which comes into effect on 1 January 2020.&nbsp; <br />   <br />  Car manufacturers and broadcasters alike have a vested interest in the performance of radio in cars. As such, there will be a session presenting the results of studies that have been carried out across different markets.    <title>La RNT dans les Samsung Galaxy ?</title>

Si certains Smartphones offrent aujourd’hui la possibilité d’écouter la radio en mobilité, voilà que les radios commerciales australiennes tentent désormais d’encourager les sociétés de téléphonie mobile à installer des puces numériques DAB + pour écouter la RNT. Explications.     <div>
      S'exprimant à l’occasion du Tamworth Country Music Festival (Australie), Joan Warner, la patronne du Commercial Radio Australia Ltd, a indiqué que son syndicat (qui fédère les radios commerciales australiennes) était actuellement en négociations avec le fabricant Samsung pour que celui-ci intègre une puce radio numérique dans la nouvelle version de son célèbre téléphone Galaxy. Le secteur de la radio communautaire australienne aurait également fait entendre sa voix dans cette opération de lobbying numérique.

     <div><b>Une campagne pour promouvoir la RNT</b></div>

      En échange de l’éventuelle intégration de cette puce, Commercial Radio Australia Ltd aurait accepté d'engager, sur l'ensemble des stations commerciales, une campagne publicitaire de plusieurs millions de dollars, afin de promouvoir la radio numérique sur les Samsung Galaxy. Joan Warner a également mis dans la balance la croissance des ventes du Galaxy et la rigidité d’Apple à modifier ses iPhones même si certains modèles sont déjà équipés de puces mais qui ne sont pas activées.

      Par ailleurs, après l’intégration de la RNT en tant que norme désormais standard dans les véhicules Lexus et Toyota, Joan Warner a aussi déclaré que le Commercial Radio Australia Ltd milite activement, auprès du nouveau gouvernement, pour&nbsp; le lancement de la radio numérique dans les zones régionales. L'ampleur d'un tel déploiement sur de vastes territoires nécessiterait l'aide financière du gouvernement tout en sachant que cet exécutif australien a priorisé le National Broadband Network.

      En Australie aussi, la radio numérique n’a pas connu le même élan que la télévision numérique. En effet, aucune date officielle n’a pour l’instant été communiquée quant à l’arrêt définitif des services analogiques comme cela avait été le cas pour la télévision. Ceci expliquant probablement cela.
