Announcing the start of Radiodays Europe 2017

Dimanche 19 Mars 2017

Starting on Sunday 19 March, this year’s Radiodays Europe (RDE) is, once again, the meeting point for the world of radio – the place to connect, share, network, learn and be inspired. This year, the conference is about “A Sound Future” for radio and the growing audio market, focusing on making better radio for listeners while tackling the future digital challenges ahead.

A welcome Event from 18.00 to 20.00

Registration opens at 13.30 at the RAI Convention Centre on Sunday. The exhibition also opens at this time with 60+ companies that will be demonstrating products and services for the radio and audio industry. As well as the exhibition, there will be the networking session at 16.00, 'Fast and Curious', and also interactive workshops and master classes, from 13.30-16.00, that you can sign up for online. These include Storytelling for the Airwaves: Crafting powerful stories in the digital age, Online Investigation – the essential skills and The Mobile Video Master class for Radio Professionals. In the evening, there will be a Welcome Event from 18.00 to 20.00, which will be hosted by Xperi and RAB.nl, at Knijn Bowling and Restaurant.

55 sessions and 120 respected speakers

Delivering the welcoming addresses on Monday at 9.00 will be Graham Dixon (Head of Radio, EBU, Switzerland); Stefan Möller (President, AER, Finland) and Anders Held (Manager & Co-founder, Radiodays Europe, Sweden). In four tracks, there will be 55 sessions and 120 respected speakers sharing their ideas and experience of the industry over the two-and-a-half days of the conference. Among these will be: Bob Shennan (Director of Radio & Music for the BBC, UK); Manoush Zomorodi (host of the podcast “Note to Self”, WNYC, USA); Christian O´Connell (morning host on Absolute Radio, UK); Menno Koningsberger (CEO Talpa Radio group, the Netherlands); Guido Bülow (Strategic Partner Manager, Facebook, Germany) and Stephanie Hirst (radio DJ and icon of the UK transgender community, UK).

It is still possible to buy ticket

On the Monday Radio Night will be spent at the industrial-chic hotel and restaurant De Goudfazant. A converted car garage in north Amsterdam, it’s a striking venue for the event which will include entertainment from DJs playing the latest Dutch music, as well as drinks and canapés thanks to RDE’s partners PURE Jingles, RAB and NPO. The conference will end on Tuesday with a finale during which the winners of the Radio Hack Europe event are presented and next year’s host city will be announced.
It is still possible to buy tickets to attend Radiodays Europe 2017 on arrival at the conference. All press should go to the Press Registration at the RAI – only press showing a valid press card and confirmation from their editor that they will cover the event will gain entry.
